About Me
I have been a fourth grade teacher in the beautiful community of Schoolcraft Michigan for two years. I graduated from the University of Michigan in the Big House stadium in 2013 with a degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Mathematics and Social Studies. Although I am currently getting my Master's degree from Michigan State University in Educational Technology I will always be a University of Michigan football fan.
It is my goal that students in my classroom become lifelong learners. I would like them to engage in their own learning and develop a curiousity towards learning.
It is my own mission statement, "Teaching, Leading, Learning" that guides my career. I believe in becoming the best teacher that I can be. I also want to take what I learn from my own teaching practices and lead others to create positive changes in education. I know that I will always be learning. Every day I learn something new and I hope that I will instill this view of lifelong learning into my students.
In my spare time I am a runner and I hope to complete my first 5k this year. I also enjoy skiing and figure skating. I have always had a passion for traveling. I have been to India, England, and France recently. However, Italy and Australia are top of my list in the future. I am very close to my two sisters and parents. I can always find an excuse to vist them!
